Bill Cooney serves as Vice President for Highland Capital Brokerage in Seattle. Bill had an extensive history in business management before being licensed in 2001 as a life insurance agent and broker. He has a natural affinity for working with successful business owners and entrepreneurs. Bill’s focus is helping affluent clients create well‑coordinated plans integrating tax-efficient risk management, wealth transfer, and charitable planning strategies.

Bill partners with top-performing insurance agents and wealth management advisors to expand their planning capability through collaboration with his experienced Highland team of attorneys and other specialists. This partnership delivers an individually tailored action plan developed through careful consideration of each client’s unique values, circumstances, and tolerance for risk and complexity.

Bill holds the following designations and licenses, Series 6, Series 63, Series 65, Chartered Life Underwriter^®, and Chartered Financial Consultant^®.

Originally from New England, Bill has lived in Seattle since 1989. He is married to a native New Yorker and has two children. In his free time, Bill enjoys the outdoors, songwriting, following Huskies football, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
